Since 2004, golf’s future stars have showcased their skills and racked up scores that impress even the pros. During the Greater Hickory High School Classic, area high school students (golf’s future pros) get a chance to compete in a nine-hole stroke play tournament on Rock Barn’s Jackson Course. The top two players with the lowest scores are invited to watch an official tournament round from “inside the ropes” as honorary observers, and additional top finishers have the opportunity to serve as caddies during Tuesday’s Dale Jarrett Shootout.
